A gallant Souths Premier League side hung on to down Gosford 4-3 at the Newcastle International Hockey Centre on Sunday.
The match started at a frenetic pace, with neither side creating any clear cut attempts on goal in the opening exchanges. Gosford were clearly out to put the Souths side off their game, with a very physical approach.
Due to difficulty in recovering all outstanding fees from members in previous years the committee has decided that in 2009 all members will have to pay fees throughout the season.
